Job Summary:
The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing and managing project schedules, ensuring the timely completion of project milestones. This role involves coordinating with project teams to monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule Development: Create comprehensive project schedules that outline all key milestones and deliverables.
- Progress Monitoring: Track project progress against the schedule, identifying any deviations and taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Coordination: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned with the schedule.
- Schedule Adjustment: Adjust project schedules based on progress, unforeseen challenges, and changes in project scope.
- Risk Management: Identify potential scheduling risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project timelines are met.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular progress reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key achievements and any areas of concern.
- Software Utilization: Utilize project management software to create, update, and maintain project schedules.
- Compliance: Ensure all scheduling activities comply with relevant standards and best practices.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all scheduling activities, including changes and updates to the project timeline.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to project team members on scheduling tools and techniques.
Qualifications:
Experience: Over 15 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction industry.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PSP) are preferred.
Skills:
- Proven track record of developing and managing project schedules for large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
